Chineze Olive Okafor is a deeply experienced scholar of international development and African studies with extensive work in the financial sector  and humanitarian commitments across women’s empowerment and leadership initiatives.

A celebrant of her indigenous Igbo heritage and culture, Chineze co-founded the Alaigbo Initiative in 2019 to galvanize the Igbo Renaissance for the homeland in every aspect of life: education, healthcare, agriculture, entrepreneurship, governance, creativity, and holistic human development. A graduate of the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and the University of Lagos, Chineze envisions Alaigbo Initiative sweeping across the land to rekindle the Igbo community’s can-do spirit of action with results orientation, such that new generations will grow in a renewed atmosphere of civic accountability and a complete drive for excellence in human development. The Alaigbo Initiative is built to adapt to and integrate the unique abilities, visions, and multiplicity of talents across Igboland in mutable, malleable forms founded on Igbo concepts of democratization of ideas and merited value.
